Napster will exist without Napigator.
So, they are not mutually exclusive.

Why did you post this in the GH forums when you already made a thread about it int the Software forum?

Napigator can connect either to a Napster network server or to an Opennap network server. Once Napster is shut down the first network will go down too, but Opennap remains... Anyone can setup an Opennap server on their Unix system if they want to.

Someone give a straight answer here...

Does Napigator not get it's list of servers from Napster? If so, how is it gonna connect you to open nap servers if Napster is down. If not, how is it gonna find those open nap servers for you?

This really isn't that hard....yes it will work. Didn't you notice all the servers on Napigator that say OpenNap? Those are in no way affiliated with Napster. Heck I could set one up if I so pleased.

If Deeko is right, then how come he doesn't answer my question? Where do you think napigator gets it's server list from?

chances are I'm thinkin Napster is not gonna get shutdown though, but did anyone read that one article about how Win XP is going to try to end music piracy by not allowing ur sound hardware to play "unconfirmed" music files LOL

Just to add, there are more Server Groups with "Napster"-like services other than OpenNAP...
OpenNAP is the best, and like it's name suggests, it's OPEN...

They'll have fun trying to shutdown that pipeline...
it's akin to trying to stop Warez.. they've been trying that for over a decade now, no real solution
or breakthrough yet...
