Will N Router increase range on B device?

I have an old D-Link internet camera that uses IEEE802.11b. I am having some problems with connectings to my G router and was wondering if an N router would expand the range on this B camera? Thx.

A little bit, yes.

It would be easier to determine why you are having trouble - change channels to 1, 6, 11, orient antennas, change position, etc.

the lower symbol rate probably will have more distance.

going to 5ghz will require double the power to reach the same distance however that band is usually not so crowded with interference.

802.11a and 5ghz N even at the same output in my busy neighborhood is FAR superior to 2.4ghz (n/b/g)

Dude, OP said 802.11b. Symbol rate has nothing to do with CCK modulation. Not to mention 802.11b is 2.4 Ghz.

Are you just reading this stuff from a book? The only reason a non-standard 802.11n AP would help is by MIMO, and that is the only reason why it slightly improves range on a 802.11b client.

no i was saying bpsk might be more resilient than qpsk for range in the b environment.
