Should work fine - I believe they decided that Windows licensing was going to be per socket, not per CPU core.

no. home will only work with multithreaded P4's ("up to" ht cores, I should say) not 2 seperate cores.
you need Pro to run dual cores to my knowledge, or win 2k.

edit: from another forum:

XP Home will recognize the dual-core processor just fine. What is different between XP Home and Pro is the ability to run multiple threads from a single application. So XP home would work, and show some increase in performance when multiple different programs are running. However, you would not see the benefit of performance gains from programs written specifically for dual-core (in other words, individual apps which are optimzed for dual-core... like Vanguard will be)


so itll work but its crippled. essentially. you'll have a dual core system that cant run multithreaded apps correctly. lol@microsoft and its crazy crap.
