Will my upcoming rig handle Dolphin and PCSX2 well?

Not too sure about PCSX2 but Dolphin will run fine. Haswell is quite a bit faster (25% per clock) than Sandy Bridge, as seen in the Wind Waker benchmark thread at the Dolphin forums.

To get full speed on the most demanding games like Super Mario Galaxy and Xenoblade however, you will need to overclock to 4.2 Ghz or better. Expect CPU requirements to continue rising as the emulator becomes more accurate (thus slower with less speed hacks). Thus the 3.5 stable build might be faster for you than the new 4.0 build.

Don't have issues with either of those on a 2500@4.2 and a gtx480 with max settings. Dolphin 4.0 seems to run better overall than 3.5.

I see... Well, I won't be able to OC to 4.2GHz anytime soon, but hopefully I'll be fine. Thanks!

First, you don't have to overclock. I just mentioned this because a few games will require those clock speeds to reach full speed. Most Gamecube/Wii games will run at full speed even at stock clocks.

Second, your CPU is unlocked. It should be able to reach 4.2 Ghz if you wanted it to.

Yeah, I know, but I don't think a Hyper 212 Evo is enough to get Haswell that high. I'll see how things go when I have the system built though.
