i was wondering if my system will be able to handle a dell 2407 WFP at its native resolution. thanks. 🙂

Yes.

i realize i may have a tough time playing at native resolution with all the eye candy turned on. does this monitor scale well to say 1280 x 1024? this is what i currently play at with my samsung lcd.

Not sure, I imagine you'd want to play in widescreen though. I just have a couple 1600x1200 panels so I haven't tried gaming on a 1920x1200 monitor.

I think you are able to put black bars on the screen ot play at any 5:4 res, but with a widescreen monitor (like yoyo said) what's the point other than fps, but just drop the res down to like 1440x900 or something. No problems there, and you'll get good performance out of a 7800gtx oc'ed. It will also depend on the game, what games do you play?

I play bf2 @1680x1050 (2005FPW). To play at a custom resolution add +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680+szy 1050 to the end of the shortcut.

it can handle it but for gaming, you may need to turn some of the eye candy of to run it at it's native resolution.

I just recently got a 2405FPW and play Battlefield 2 on it. Formerly I had a 2005FPW and I tried the custom res parameters in the shortcut. It didn't work for me. Had no change in the resolution from the 1024x768 that was set in the video settings so I took the parameters out. The wide screen stretch really wasn't that noticeable to me though, so it hasn't really bothered me. I don't think my 6600GT agp would handle the 1920x1200 anyway. 1024x768 is definitely a bit pixelated though on the new monitor. Eventually I'm going to have to bite the bullet and upgrade the whole pc to get a pci-e setup in there. My Windows desktop runs fine at the native resolution though and movies look great!
