amd40683825 is written on the fan. i'd rather use this heatsink and fan because the sound from my volcano 7 bothers me a lot.

or if there are better quieter heatsinks that can run the xp2600 advice? quieter heatsinks if i overclock? thanks!

Don

edit: quick search turns up "Thermaltake Silent Boost" ... good thing? also the stock xp1800 doesnt have a copper base.

I don't believe the 1800+ fan will be nearly enough, I have a 2500 and it's AMD stock fan still keeps the cpu in the upper 40s (idle) to upper 50s (full load) running on stock voltage, also the old 1800+ I had came with a smaller fan, good luck if you try it, just keep a very good eye on your temps. Variable speed fans might be a good option for your noise levels, keeps them down when idle, good luck either way!
