Will my old PSU be enough?

Hey everyone, looking to upgrade my rig to the following and have a pair of questions:

The first is should my old PSU be able to handle this setup:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P67A-D3-B3 (LGA 1155)
CPU: Sandy Bridge G840
RAM: 2x4GB
Video: Gigabyte GV-N450OC-1GI GeForce GTS 450 (single PCIe power connector)
HDDs: 2x7200rpm SATA drives
and 1 optical drive.

Nothing will be overclocked.

Old PSU is an Antec TruePower 430 specs below:
+5V: 3.6A, +12V: 20A, +3V: 28A, -5V: 0.5A, -12V: 1.0A

The second is, should the old PSU be able to handle all this, can I use a 4 pin to 6 pin adapter like this without issue?

Thanks in advance.

If your old power supply, that Truepower 430, is still working, count your lucky stars and let it retire gracefully.

It's so old it probably was built using Fuhjyyu caps, which were horrible when they got hot. And the ps is not very efficient....under 80% at best, more like mid-to-high 70% efficiency.

Add to that that your ps doesn't have APFC or a PCI-e connector natively, and I'd think spending a few bucks on something new with much better build quality, higher efficiency, proper cabling, a warranty, and no aging of its capacitors from use and heat would be money well spent. You got your use out of that old thing....let it die. Trying to reuse it in your new computer may indeed kill it, and if it dies suddenly in your new computer, it may take out some of your new components.

I think it'll be fine. It might not be the most efficient setup but i've always known Antec to be a good quality brand that wont blow up on you. Though i would recommend a new PSU in the near future.

2) yes

It will PROBABLY work fine, but I wouldn't advise it. I'd spend a few bucks to get something newer. There are decent Seasonic builds going for $50 or less these days.

Well thanks for the feedback folks. I wasn't 100% sure regarding it, but looks like new PSU time. Found a decent 500W 80+ Antec on newegg for about $50 so just means putting things off a week.
