Will my new system feel faster?

Just out of curiosity, should I see much performance difference between my old system and my new one?
My old system is a P4 2.6ghz, 512ram, 32mb onboard video. My new system will be a A64 3200 newcastle, 1Gb ram, ati 9800pro. I know games will be a world of difference, but what about normal things like boot-up speed, windows "snappyness" and photoshop load time?
Thanks.

Well, I was thinking about getting sata drives, but they are so expensive and I kept reading that the drives seldem excede the bandwidth of even a regular ata (unless maybe with 10,000rpm drives or something). So I went with two Western Digital 7200rpm 8mb 80Gb Hard drives.

Um... to be honest I'm not sure 😱 The old system is a sony vaio, and I havent really opened it up.
And after rechecking newegg I take back what I said about the price of sata drives. I can get one with identical specs to my WDs for the same price... oops. But still, the read/write speed of this class of hard drive is slow enough that sata doesnt really make a difference right?
