Will my FOP32-1 work w/a 1.4GHz TBird?

I guess I should say work well. Been looking into upgrading my rig and calculating costs. I've noticed on a couple of sites that sell CPU's that the 1.4GHz TBirds have "requires HSF rated for 1.4GHz" next to it. No, I haven't been to AMD's site yet...that's next. But sometimes what AMD says and what works in the real world don't mix. Power isn't a prob. I have the 400w Antec. Thanks.

Well, AMD says the FOP 32-1 is GTG up to a 1.33 TBird. I see no reason why it shouldn't work with a 1.4GHz. My FOP is lapped (ooooo...smooooth!) and I use ASII. NE1 have any suggestions/opinions on this subject?

i think my only problem with my older fop32-1 HSF is that is had a lip on it that was a little to big, and it did not allow proper contact with the die. Or maybe I am confusing my models.

That is a good HSF and cools to the same level or better than units costing much more. IMHO it should be fine with the 1.4 GHz and AMD probably just hasn't tested it yet.
