One of our dogs peed itself the first couple times I visited my folks after going to college, and we'd only had her for a year or two before I left.

Then you two hadn't bonded or spent much time "together." That dog was primarily someone else's in your family and you didn't have much to do with him/her, right?

The dog will probably remember you if you were good to it.

If you have a tennis ball on you, my dog will remember you too.

Hard to say. It's young. A human child's memory is no more than about 5 days until they reach the age of six. Until then they cannot remember people they've not been around anymore recently than five days.

Allow me to be the third person to point out this is completely wrong. Skoorb, put down the crack pipe. 🙂

You are talking about what, the 3rd smartest dog breed? There is no way in the bloody world that the dog won't remember you. A real test would be to go somewhere (like behind a bathroom door) where the dog can't see you, but let him sniff your scent from underneath it. See if he goes ballistic and tears a hole in the door trying to get to you.

I have a feeling hes going to be all over you as if you had steaks in your pants.

I'll do the opposite here. My GSD HATED my uncle and would follow him around grumbling, barking, and growling like he was going to steal something the whole time he was in the house. She went 2 years without ever seeing him when I moved but she remembered him immediately when he finally got around to seeing my house.

I left for two months once, and when I saw him again he growled at me for a couple of seconds before realizing who I was. Once he did, he went nuts 🙂

yes. after the first time i met my sisters dog it was about 7 months before i saw him again, he knew exactly who i was the moment i walked in the door
