Will my current CPU bottleneck a Xfire setup?

Sup! I'm currently running on an Intel i7 950 and a single ATI 6950 2GB and was wondering if adding a second 6950 would bottleneck my CPU. I don't have the CPU overclocked but the 6950 is OC'd at 840/1325.

I recently bought a new 23" monitor upgrading from a 19". I noticed a HUGE FPS hit in Battlefield 3 when switching from 1440x900 to 1080p so I'm wanting to upgrade to compensate. I'm struggling to run at a solid 30 fps now with MSAA turned off and everything at Medium settings.

Something sounds wrong with your setup. A 6950 should have no problems running all high, with no MSAA at 1080p. For reference, I can usually average at least 50fps with a 6870. I think that getting another 6950 would be a mistake without first fixing whatever underlying problem your system may have.

even a gtx260 can handle BF3 with medium settings at over 30 fps so you certainly have something that's not right

I was thinking the same thing but I have no idea how to go about figuring out what the problem is.

My current rig is:
Asus x58 Pro MB
Intel i7 950 @ 3.07 Ghz
G Skill Ripjaw 8GB DDR 2133
ATI 6950 2GB
Thermaltake Toughpower XT 775W
