Hi, I just built a computer. I know it may not seem like much but I was able to scrounge up some parts from some friends (as well as my own) to build my machine. The specs are as follows...

AMD Tbird 1 Gig CPU
Asus K7V133
384 PC133
60 Gig HD
FX5500
Generic Sound Card
16x DVD

Will this computer be able to run Half Life 2, NFSUnderground 2, and WoW? I think that I'm going to o/c the CPU to about 1.2 or 1.33, as well as do the same for the video card. I know its not a 6800 or anything even close but I believe that it is a decent card. Thanks and LMK.

the source engine scales incredibly well, i think it has to be the best written code ever it runs great on every computer ive seen.

providing that FX5500 renders in DX8 mode and not DX9 (the game will select this automatically....i think it switched Nvidia FX series over to DX8 as their DX9 performance flat out sucks) at the right settings HL2 will run. you will indefinately be CPU limited in HL2, its a very physics intensive game that will tax that CPU to hell and back

WoW shouldnt be a problem

and you may struggle on NFSU2

It will definately run. I was running it on my old P3 933 with an fx5200 and it played fine. Obviously the settings were low but it was definately playable.

The source engine is actually based off of old quake 1 code so it does scale quite well.

It will work on the lowest resolution and graphics possible, but still will be a struggle.
