1 Sb live plat (the old one)

1 delta38 60mm heatsink fan

I think that's about it--what do you guys think?
Do i need to get a new PS?

are you sure about that? hehe..
btw--how do you calculate power needed for your system and how do you find out power supplied of the powersupply?

it will do that easy, i just built a simliar setup except it has 1 7200 RPM SCSI HDD, 1 15,000 RPM SCSI HDD, 1 5400 RPM HDD, 5 80mm fans, and a piggy back fan for every hard drive and i'm only using an antec 300watt

More than sufficient. I have the Antec 400w myself. Just got it up last night, as a matter of fact. I have:

Abit KT7R
Three 7200RPM IDE drives
Two CDRs
1.1 Gig Athlon
FOP 32-1
GF2 Vidcard
Soundcard
NIC
Dialup modem
4 case fans

and it's just dandy. You'll be good to go.

my antec 400w is handling
iwill kk266r
512 pc133 RAM
fop38
tibird 900@1066(8x133)
ibm 20 gig 7200rpm ata100 HDD
samsung 6 gig 5400rpm HDD
52x cdrom
8x4x32 CDRW
nic
Hercules 4500 KyroII
two 80 MM case fans....
i even have a few extra connectors left for more HDD's or something!

i think you ll be all set

its MORE than enough, considering my antec 300w is powering:

(2) penitum 3 933 on a abit vp6
4 case fans
(2) 40 gig hdd
(1) lvd scsi 9.1 gb
radeon agp
lvd controller
herc gtxp
nic
tv tuner
voodoo3 for second monitor
floppy
internal zip
dvd
cdr
some usb stuff

I just added a Lite-On 16x CDRW, and my Antec 300W couldn't handle (crashed randomly) this:

ABit KT7AR TBird 1.2@1.33
Voodoo5 5500
120mm 0.6A fans x2
WD300BB x3
Toshiba 12x DVD
Lite-On 16x CDRW
Live 5.1-P
nic
WinTV
USB force feed back JS
...

I added a second 300W AT ps for the V5 and other device. My system is back to stable, and I even able to crank it back up to 1.4GHz now.

Newbie, I'm planning on doing the same. My 300W Deer PS (I know it's AMD approved, but it's no Antec) is going to be powering a DVD, CDRW, 2x IBM Deskstars, and a 1.2G T-bird that will prolly be overclocked on a mobo with 4 outta the 6 PCI slots filled. Oh, and 4 fans in the case. I'm gonna grab a power supply from an old case that I don't use anymore and use it to power the fans and the CDRW & DVD drives. Although, I'm gonna see if just one PS is OK (I've got a GF2, not a V5) first before adding another supply.

Power = Amps X Volts
Power Out = Power @ 5V + Power @ 12V + Power @ 3.3V + Power @ -5V + Power @ -12V

Power is an absolute, doesn't matter if it's + or -, it's counted as plus.
Power used by the system is harder, you need to look up specs for each component.

SpideyCU,

In my case:
For some unknown reason, the booting drive IDE-0 must connect to the same ps as the mb using, otherwise the mb will have trouble detecting it. Other than that, everything seems working falwlessly. It is lame though because I have to turn two switches on and of now hehe...

thanks guys for the reply. I guess I dont have to worry 🙂
I was wondering if I can use the 400w Antec PS from my other prev system for this new one.
Thanks a bunch!
