Will my 8RDA+ accept a Radeon 9700 Pro Version 0.0 or 1.0? Will I have to find version 1.3?

I emailed EPoX regarding this issue. They emailed me back within the hour (awesome) and said that they had tested the 9700 Pro with the 8RDA+ in their labs and found no problems.

However, I visited rage3d.com and couldn't believe the number of people having problems with their Radeon 9700 Pro cards. I'm not quite sure I want one now. I'm thinking I might pick up a Ti4600...

the only problem i know of with the radeon 9700 pro is that they don't run as well with high AGP speeds as nVidia cards. however, the 8RDA+ locks the AGP bus speed, so this should not be an issue. frankly, i think that going for a ti4600 instead of a 9700 Pro would be a very silly thing to do.

Just make sure it's a vers. 1.3 board. That's what mine is and I have zero problems with my 8RDA. But like EdipisReks sy's, Ati cards don't like overclocked AGP speeds and never have. I keep mine at 68MHz locked with no problems. Don't settle for less, just make sure you get a 1.3 card.
