There are going to be a whole lot of very disappointed people who, if the nation is lucky, will accept the results of the investigation when it's completed.

Just kidding, there is no way in hell they're going to accept the results. It's a great time to join the national guard. There will be overtime a-plenty.

It was only a few weeks ago that Cohen's files were passed from the special master to the FBI. It's an enormous amount of material that may well open up other avenues of investigation.

Trump may well survive his full term but it's great watching him sweat & highly amusing watching his devotees twist their own minds into knots to maintain belief. There's no better example of that than Trump's performance in Helsinki.

It's awesome to watch the useful idiot rank and file democrats being lead around with the "Trump carrot". Every day the goal post on how long Trump will be around moves farther and farther away. He wasn't going to be president, to he will be gone in a few months, to he may hang around for his first term. Once the Russia collusion nothing burger is over, get used to saying "at least there are terms limits for US Presidents.". A bunch of mentally unstable Eeyores.

For once I completely agree with you, a lot of people will be very sad when this investigation concludes and they won't accept the results. I'm sure that you will be one of the people who will immediately declare the investigation to be invalid and a setup, for example. You're just not equipped to handle reality.

Yeh, Trumpsters are likely to lose it completely should their hero be evicted from the White House. There's little doubt about that.

From the POV of a Democrat or non-Trump supporter, having it drag on isn't a bad thing. The dark cloud of the investigation is itself politically useful, plus every moment that passes by creates another opportunity for Trump to say something stupid and/or incriminate himself. In the end Trump will have probably done more to create a case against himself than Mueller ever did.

Is it within Mueller's power to take all of the evidence in front of the grand jury and get an indictment issued for OoJ against Trump and just sit on it sealed until the day after his presidency ends?

I generally agree with this however I think you may be significantly underestimating the amount of criminal activity that's likely in Trump's background. For example this:

https://www.newyorker.com/news/news...donald-trump-jr-avoided-a-criminal-indictment

And that's just his kids. I find it highly likely Trump has a lot of money laundering activity in his past because honestly, do you think he would have refused large amounts of money because he knew it was criminal in origin, especially considering how that sort of thing is almost never prosecuted? I sincerely doubt it. If anything the Manafort trial has showed us just how easy it is to get away with rampant criminal behavior for years because nobody's watching.

Why would the rule apply? It's only by association and not about someone currently running. Though, I think for certain allegations (as in the case of 2016 Trump campaign), it shouldn't even apply, which is a much better judgment than the contortions Comey made to explain his reasoning that Hillary perhaps mishandling classified info and slipping by is somehow "catastrophic".
It’s not a loose association and the appearance of tipping the scales would be too great. Cohen is very front and center in relation to the president and any action against him could be spun as an action against Trump (and as such the GOP) no matter how disconnected the actual charges are.

Trumpism is a cult of personality & Pence doesn't have the magic. Pardons are immaterial to impeachment & you get to keep your guns anyway. You're probably fondling one now.

What was the expiration date when Trey Gowdy kept his witch Hunt open all the against Hillary Clinton all the way up to the election? And the Comey announcements about her use of a server and Anthony Weiners lap tap that had nothing to do with her. I'll wait! Matter of fact - we will all wait for your answer. Trey Gowdy kept the investigation open to help Trump. Did the G.O.P. tell him to rap up? No. So why the hell is Gowdy on his high horse demanding Mueller rap his investigation up. Gowdy you are a two-faced hypocrite and phony. Go off and retire before a heart attack hits you!

I don't know what Mueller will release, But Grumpy Trumpy just released some epic Twitterrhea. It just keeps flowing...

Trump the Grump:

Disgraced and discredited Bob Mueller and his whole group of Angry Democrat Thugs spent over 30 hours with the White House Councel, only with my approval, for purposes of transparency. Anybody needing that much time when they know there is no Russian Collusion is just someone....

....looking for trouble. They are enjoying ruining people’s lives and REFUSE to look at the real corruption on the Democrat side - the lies, the firings, the deleted Emails and soooo much more! Mueller’s Angry Dems are looking to impact the election. They are a National Disgrace!

Where’s the Collusion? They made up a phony crime called Collusion, and when there was no Collusion they say there was Obstruction (of a phony crime that never existed). If you FIGHT BACK or say anything bad about the Rigged Witch Hunt, they scream Obstruction!

Lol.."angry Democrat thugs" , "Muellers angry Dems" At least he's giving some good band name material..

“Thugs”? Seriously? These are respected career prosecutors. The kind of people most Republicans pretend to respect.

Meanwhile, Trump claims Brennan is unhinged... while the Faithful chant "Lock her up!"

But none of it is crazy any more... it's all perfectly normal. Truthiness rules in Trumplandia.

Mueller won't release his report until it is complete and there is zero chance of that happening before the midterms.

So Trump goes to the pejorative used against black people to label them as criminals. More red meat for base.

Fox News sez; Robert Mueller something something something BENGHAZI.

“When covert missions go wrong, the government calls in its own cleaner,” Pirro said. “And when things go terribly wrong for the Democrats, they don’t just call in a cleaner to get the job done, they call in someone who’s been in the clean-up business a long time, they call in the serial cleaner, former FBI director and current special prosecutor Bob Mueller.”

It’s all part of the efforts by the “Trump-hating deep state” to cover for Hillary Clinton’s performance in the 2016 election, she alleged.

“Your credentials as a serial government cleaner are really good,” Pirro said. “You testified, after four Americans are killed in Benghazi, to cover for Hillary Clinton’s incompetence. Bob, why would you say that the FBI couldn’t get into Benghazi?”

I don't even..Serial cleaner? Are you shitting me? Obviously Pirro's a nutcase. She hasn't had a passing acquaintance with reality in years. But this is some classic dumbfuckery. And she's slipping. She completely failed to work George Soros, Susan Rice, or CNN into that theory.

You mean all the criminal activity that Trump or Trump Organization was involved in with those international hotels? The very ones that had his name taken off of them. Or you think Panama took his name off for fun? I'm sure low I.Q. man is involved in a whole host of other crimes in the U.S. too.

What's the expiration date on a witch hunt?
There is none. You have to remember that 20 people were executed for being witches in Salem and 5 others died in prison.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salem_witch_trials

"The Salem witch trials were a series of hearings and prosecutions of people accused of witchcraft in colonial Massachusetts between February 1692 and May 1693. More than 200 people were accused, nineteen of which were found guilty and executed by hanging (fourteen women and five men). One other man was pressed to death for refusing to plead, and at least five people died in jail. It was the deadliest witch hunt in the history of the United States.

..........................
The episode is one of Colonial America's most notorious cases of mass hysteria."

This particular witch hunt is just the latest example of mass Trump Derangement Syndrome hysteria in modern America.

Actually I have no doubt that both in the past, as when president, the entire Trump family has been involved in all kinds of crime.

The main question is.. if indicted.. will he and his kids see actual jail time or will this be another lame plea deal where he just needs to resign and that's it for him and his kids?

Thing is, I care about the country and not so much about relishing in the failure of people who disagree with me on things. I suspect most Democrats agree with me on that. I want Trump gone ASAP because he's a danger to our country. I am bitterly disappointed in Congress' failure to act thus far.

I also expect that's the biggest difference between Trump supporters and others. Trump supporters define winning as the other side losing. I define winning as the country being better off.

I think we may see a few more big indictments before Labor Day and then...crickets. DoJ/FBI will not be pulling a Comey this year. They won't make any big moves within 60 days of the election.

Not sure when he will do it. He seems to be an extreme example of a 'by the book' kind of person, rather than worrying about when it may or may not have the biggest impact.
I guess when he's ready, that's when,
