Will Mini HDMI cables work with your PC?

Hello,

My LCD Asus VE245 is not showing a connection to the PC through my mini HDMI cable, is there a problem with using HDMI and your PC and should I be using the other cables that I use to use? This is my first Vid card with even an HDMI connection anyway...

Your thread inspired me to look up HDMI mini -to- HDMI cables. That's the first one that I found, seems cheap enough. I'm looking for something to connect my GTX460's mini-HDMI port to a 26" LCD monitor (with speakers) with an HDMI input.

I use HDMI for my desktop and for my laptop (when i want a second monitor for my laptop) works fine for me.

I go from HDMI to video card My card came with HDMI to HDMI mini

It passes sound nvidia sound chipset. Thaat is diff with DVI , DVI cant carry sound. thx

There was an HDMI-to-miniHDMI converter in my GTX460 box, so I used that along with a normal HDMI cable to connect my monitor to my computer. Now I have sound!

I think my problem might have had something to do with not have the driver installed yet as I was just installing Win 7 to this new system... I think if I try to use it now after everything installed the HDMI cable will work.. Im going to give it a try and see if now that the drivers are installed it can read through the cable... Thanks my friends for all your help...
