I'm thinking he said "of course it..." and stopped talking. Doesn't sound like horseshit to me. But my respect would go up for him if he had said it :)

He was saying horseshit to Obama claiming that Spain was an ally. Where the fuck has Obama been the last few years if he actually thinks that Spain is an ally?

Uhh... no. He was saying "ofcourse not" to the idea that he wouldn't talk to Spain. Spain is our ally btw. The leader of spain is a supporter of Obama though so there was a problem a while back about this. Not a big deal and it was a pretty lame attempt by BHO to use it in a debate when he knows that what he's insinuating is false.

Nice spin, maybe old man mccain will lend you his hearing aid, so you could tell he clearly said horsesh*t.

Even that moron Sullivan is backing away from his assertion it was "horseshit". Hmm....

I agree with Caddy. He was just saying 'Of horse snot'

And Obama should know and not make an issue out of something McCain surely knew before Obama was born.

LOL! If you guys can't at least laugh at that somethings wrong. That's comedy gold.

I would have laughed if he actually said that. I'd have actually been rolling.

I don't know man...his body language was showing frustration and disbelief and it certainly sounded like horseshit to me.

I'd actually sympathize with him more had he swore, but in this case I think I will be left wanting as it didn't seem to me like he said anything profane

Well, I heard horseshit quite clearly in the video although I missed it during the debates, but if the republirats could sound enhance a barely audible Howard Dean yehaw into a super loud YEEHAW, surely the dimocrats can do the same for McCain.

Lost to posterity is, did McCain say OH HORSESHIT, my plane is gostoppen, when he was similarly shot down over North Vietnam?

At least in the Nixon era, we had this charitable phrase of expletive deleted.

Better video
http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=SF2FCqcIykY

EDIT: Put McCain's either "horseshit" or "[of] course not" muttered response in context of what Barack Obama speaking about at the time and decide for yourselves.

Barack Obama: ...think this is important and Senator McCain appears resistant. He even said the other day that he would not meet, potentially, with the Prime Minister of Spain because he sugg... he wasn't sure whether they were aligned with us. Spain! (McCain muttering) Spain is a NATO ally. (McCain muttering) If we can't meet with our friends I don't know how we are going to lead the world in dealing with critical issues like terrorism.

Me neither but we can still HOPE;)

;) Fixed for the context of the campaign...
 Not that it would be bad for McCain's camp because out of all of what Obama said that was the one thing that was Horseshit. McCain might have a bad temper, he might not make good judgments when it comes to foreign affairs and economic policies but he does know who our allies are and his comment about Spain was just a Senior moment.

I posted this for comic relief, and because it demonstrates how close to the surface McCain's hot temper is.

Apparently people don't know the background of this episode. Earlier this week in an interview McCain was asked if he would meet with Jose Zaperato, the prime minister of Spain. (Spain had previously pulled out of Iraq which got McCain mad.) McCain said absolutely not. The interviewer pressed, and McCain repeated no. Its possible McCain had a senior moment, or momentary confusion, but who knows. Here is one of many links to the underlying episode:

McCain refuses to meet with Prime Minister of Spain?

I'm aware of that episode, I think Obama lowered himself to McCain's level even bringing that up.

Hey look, someone spouting BHO lies. McCain did not say that. I already posted what McCain stated in the interview. He did not say what BHO claimed, not in words(he didn't say no) or intent(he didn't "not know" they were an ally).

Do you live in Missouri.... the BHO "truth squad" thugs might get you if you did...

I didn't "clearly" hear "horseshit" in that video. And could care less, but McCain sure seemed cranky up there...

The phrase "dismaying temperament" is the one George Will applied to McCain in reference to his attack on SEC chairman Chris Cox. And it describes McCain's churlishness at last night's debate. Couldn't look at Obama? Had a sneer on the better part of the night?

Of course he did. He was pissed! that he was there. He expected his bailout stunt to have gotten him off the hook, and he didn't even have 24 hours to come to grips with having to do a 180 and show up after all.

I dont think he actually said that, but its easy to see why many assume he did. Its hard NOT to think "Horseshit" when McCain is talking =)

Who cares if he said horseshit or not? Adults sometimes use adult language.

I extracted the audio from the 2nd youtube video linked and played with it in Audigy. Tweaking time, pulling out various audio, etc. To me, it sounded like McCain made an exasperated sigh at 11 seconds, something unintelligible at at 14 seconds, "horseshit" at just before 17 seconds, and "of course not" at about 18.5 seconds.

CNN transcript

Olemiss transcript

He even said the other day that he would not meet potentially with the prime minister of Spain, because he -- you know, he wasn't sure whether they were aligned with us. I mean, Spain? Spain is a NATO ally.

MCCAIN: Of course.

Both CNN and University of Mississippi must be in the tank for McCain. And 9/11 was carried out by Elvis (yes, he is alive and working for the NSA as a triple agent).
