I am planning to install a Western Digital 120 gig 7200 rpm Hard drive. I have an Asus p4TE motherboard. Will the Bios support such 120 gig? I tried Asus's web site for info but had no success. I would appreciate any input.

I have never heard of a BIOS not supporting a HD as long as the HD is ATA and the MB is ATA. What I would look into is your operating system. And what file system you are going to use. Some times FAT32 has problems with bigger drives. NTFS should have not problem however.

What OS are you running?
You will need to update your BIOS to the newwest one and if you have Win Xp or 2K you should be OK

I am running a WD 120gig on my Asus CUSL2 under Win98. Worked first time with no bios upgrades etc. I do have it divided into <40 gig partitions though.

i have yet to see a limit on disc capacity with o/s or p3 p4 setups we have, presently we are using 2 maxtor 160s & 2 wd1200bb(2mb) on a dell 850 board through a maxtor card. win98 win2k & XP corp all see the full capacity..
i just sold little brother an asus p4t board he uses a set of maxtors (160s) i will know when he fires it up later today.

The real problem i find on limitations is win98 wont start with 4x512 sticks of ram in place...still havent gotten that strait...

Bios versions 1005 and higher have support for 48-bit LBA addressing.

This means that the ASUS P4T-E motherboard supports drives beyond the 128GB limit.
