Will lga1150 hs/f work with 7700k cpu?

The pump on my aio died and am waiting on a replacement from nzxt. I'm wondering if this Intel lga 1150 hsf I have will work until I get my cooler back. The cpu settings are all at stock speed and voltage in the bios. If I take it easy and don't load down the cpu do you think this will work temporarily?

hsf ---> intel E97378-001

As far as mechanically fit? I believe so. Intel hasn't changed the mounting holes since 1155 on the mainstream platform.

As far as heat load? I don't know if that heatsink is sufficient.

Should work, but you might want to downclock the CPU a bit. My 6600 non-K runs on such a heat sink, and it can overheat at full turbo.

hmm, I could try it and just monitor temps really closely but I think i'll just leave it alone, probably not worth messing with. I've got enough other computers here. If I have to be without this machine for 2-3 weeks, not the end of the world.

It won't hurt anything. I would just make sure to monitor the temps and don't run the Windows 'high performance' setting under power options. The cpu might throttle under a heavy load as well.
