Haswell system to set up, have not bought ram yet. Other computer is Ivy and I have extra LGA 1155 ram (G skill Ripjaws). Will 1155 ram work in Haswell system? Haswell LGA is 1150.

Thanks

You're confusing socket type with memory type.

So why does the ram specify compatibility with LGA 1155 only? (On Newegg)
Sorry, this is the wife who does not assemble computers (hubby does). Just wondered why ram would specify LGA socket types.

It says it's compatible with LGA1155 probably because that was typed in before LGA1150 was out.

All the answers provided by the other posters are more than ample.

But if you want an updated compatibility list with motherboards (and therefore CPU sockets), a company like G.SKILL has a marvelously thorough "configurator" page.

And like the others said, those RipJaws should be good to go . . .
