Will "legitimate political discourse" stick to the GOP like "defund the police" stuck to the Democrats?

What are your foreign policy plans in Asia?

Jan 6

Why are you allowing record inflation to occur?

Jan 6

Why is the CIA always involved in shady torture programs?

Jan 6

Why is America's debt at 30+++ trillion?

Jan 6

Why is income and wealth inequality rapidly growing?

Jan 6

Why do a handful of corporations own most of the media?

Jan 6

Got it? Easy peasy.

"Why do you keep focusing on tangible direct threats to our Democracy? Why aren't you focused on all these things liberals warned me about decades ago while I voted people into office who promised to make them worse? Why aren't Democrats cleaning up after our mess fast enough?"

If Jan 6 had been successful none of what you listed would matter because we would no longer have a democracy.

BTW - What could a President do to STOP inflation that Biden hasn't already done?

I don't blame Biden for the debt or inflation. Not one bit. Trump was a horrible fiscal president. The federal reserve is very reckless in their monetary policies.

How many of those Jan 6 people were armed? How many tanks did they have? How many helicopters? What was their average age?

How about you watch the full 4-hour compiled footage video of the event before you pretend it wasn't a big deal.

The ones with the pipe bombs, guns, stun guns, bear spray, poles and anything else they could bring or pick up to attack police. You know those blue lives you claim to cherish.

Did I ever claim to support police? Maybe you can dig it out somewhere but I don't ever remember posting it.

Huh, so America is going to be taken down with stun guns and bear sprays. So what's the point of having 11 aircraft carriers and 5000 nuclear weapons?

China should just start manufacturing more stun guns, bear sprays and poles. America will fall in 5 minutes.

Oh no, Jan 6 is a big deal. Corporate news won't let anyone forget. And certainly not Dick Cheney's daughter. What a strong woman she is. Almost as fearsome and determined as her decorated father.

Their failure to prepare for, or to achieve their stated goal is not the real threat of Jan 6th.
It is their intention to stop the peaceful transfer of power. To ensure our Democracy died that day.

And the source of this threat dates back to, modern communications and social media, but it didn't truly manifest until Trump in 2015 and 2016 proclaiming a fake news media. It is the belief that the "others" are in a conspiracy to lie to you. That, instead of what is reported, reality is instead whatever makes you feel good. Whatever "your" people tell you it is. Like a lamb to the slaughter, our people were lead to a cage built by ideology. Of a belief that our shared purpose as a people was gone. That, instead, we must push and fight for whatever fantasy is in our heads. In 2020 that fantasy became fake votes. Fake election. Fake Democracy. For Republicans to openly declare that our Democracy had already fallen and that they were just responding in kind. In ways that would ensure the very outcome they claimed to be preventing.

@raildogg there may be no greater threat to us than a widespread belief, among the American people, that civility needs to yield to the use of force. When pure partisan insanity has lead the people to believe elections are fake. Such beliefs will eventually kill us by the millions, far greater a disaster than... just about anything.

Are you suggesting the military turn those weapons on their own people? Do I need to quote the many laws that would violate? The crowd was trying to pressure Pence not to certify the election and hopefully turn it over to the House which based how how that count is taken Republicans would have put Trump back in power

You need a better idea.

LOL

I can answer every single one of those questions using info from the administration, congressional hearings and publicly available reports.
However something tells me someone is having some sort of "evening" where not a word I typed will be processed.
Saving my energy.

(Y'all know I'm good for it too)

The guy is a fucking moron. There is no point in engaging him.

He didn’t even bother to see if his questions were already answered by this administration (hint: they were).

Some of those posts were....out there.

The problem is that he is representative of a growing number of Americans who have thrown up their hands and declared that both sides are bad. Unfortunately they are also no longer receptive to actual facts and reality and I’m not sure how to reach these people (although I’m sure my tactic certainly didn’t help).

As I said earlier, he is a disease that’s spreading.

I find myself wondering, if the Secret Service had screwed up that day, and the insurrectionists actually got a hold of Mike Pence, and managed to hang him from the gallows that they had erected.

Would Republican still consider that "legitimate political discourse"?

How different with things be today if they had been successful?

There were some capital police who had guns. Why didn't they just start shooting? If the crowd had been a bunch of Muslims or black people that's exactly what would have happened.

I hate to say it, but the country might actually be better off, if they had managed to hang the Vice President of the United States of America.

The pictures from that, would be right up there with pictures of Pearl Harbor, and Iwo Jima.

And every MAGAt would be right up there with Bin Ladin.

There is a backstory with the Secret Service. There was a story that Pence didn't want to leave with the Secret Service because he didn't trust them, that some were aligned with Trump. He thought that they would attempt to take him away and not let him come back in order to prevent him certifying the ballots. So, he refused to leave. A lot of crazy back stories to this.

Nope because Democrats don’t play that game.
They should but for whatever reason, I suspect it is because their average IQ is higher. They won’t AND they’ll still be stuck with defund the Police.

Not for lack of trying. Several have made the attempt, none have been able to match Fox's success. Even left wing radio went down in flames. Remember Air America?

I think the fact that you had ask that question is telling enough.

Wasn't that like 20 years ago as well?

All I know was Al Franken had a show, then quit and won a Senate seat, which he represented like a liberal, but cool headed Minnesotan. Very Lutheran like.

It is because Democrats discuss how to solve problems, Republicans discuss who to blame for them.
It is always easier to blame someone else then to find a solution. Solutions require us to do something. They require work or sacrifice. There is often disagreement about what the right solution is, what is the right balance between cost to effectiveness.

Yep. He was not going to get in the Secret Service car.
