Will leftover thermal paste lead to highter cpu temps?

I'm planning on oc'ing my duron 600. I was just wondering if(after I connect the bridges) I need to wipe or scrape off the leftover thermal paste. If I do, what should I use? Alcohol wipes? Thanx in advance.

use rubbing alcohol with a q-tip thats what i use works great if you dont have any rubbing alcohol use nail polish remover.
