HELLO NEWB!
Welcome!

The answer is yes, they will run, quite well in fact.
For reference you could also post this question in the hardware forums.
And please stay the hell away from P&N.

Ok sorry lol, but I have an AMD Athlon II x2 and I'm upgrading to the AMD Phenom II x6 1045t, but all over the net everyones saying quad core is better for gaming is that true?

I think you're looking at the argument of dual vs. quad, where more cores = more performance. In which case your hex core > quad since I don't think there was a family of Phenom II's after the hex-cores were released, meaning that's the best you're going to get out of the Phenom II generation.

Not a huge fan of the video card for the rig though, feels like its the odd one out.

I was on a budget of only spending 200 dollars, but is the video card + new processor going to be good to handle games like GTA? Even with my Athlon II ive been running Far Cry 2 and Modern Warfare 2 on High with little to no lag ever since i got my new card... I hope its worth it....^_^

Th card you have is not great. It comes down to what resolution you are playing at. If you are playing at 768P, that card will runt he games you listed pretty well. If its 1080P, it will certainly be slower, but should be plenty playable, just not on max settings.

The CPU you got will be fine as well.
