Will it fit? Biostar H81MHV3/CM Elite 110

Planning to build a budget system for my wife. It would be only used for gaming (Dota 2 to be specific). And i want it small.

Got a CM elite 110 already, just waiting the motherboard to arrive.

Will it fit?

Biostar H81MHV3

Support the Intel 4th generation Core i7 and Core i5 processors in the 1150 package
Intel H81 single chip architecture
Support 2-DIMM DDR3-1600/1333 up to 16G maximum capacity

Thanks!

Huh, that's interesting. The Biostar H81MHV3 looks like a mini-ITX board at first glance, but it isn't. It has two PCIe slots, while mini-ITX has one.

Will it fit? Maybe. But since you want to use it for gaming you're likely to have a problem. That case has two slots for a single video card to use. They're aligned so that the video card can fit in the PCIe x16 slot at the bottom of a mini-ITX board. But this board has its PCIe x16 slot one slot lower. So you're probably going to have a hard time getting any dual-slot video cards to fit. 🙁

Edit: P.S. I wrote this before reading your thread on another forum which says something similar.

Thanks man. I guess I will be having a hard time looking for a good single slot GPU (GT 740 maybe). But I will stick with that motherboard I guess.
mITX board costs $80 while this one is only $45. That savings is not that bad after all. 😀

$20 more gets you a proper Mini-ITX board like the ASRock H81M-ITX. That'll let you put in whatever dual-slot GPU instead of having to compromise for either a slow GPU or an expensive-single-slot variant of a faster one.

Thanks man. I think I'm gonna get a good GT 740 since it's purpose is to play dota 2 for my wife. 🙂

I'd argue that there is no such thing as a "good GT 740", they are all pretty much the same. It's fine for playing Source games on lowered settings though.
