I recently attached my desktop system to Collatz and much to my surprise it started to download work for my lowly AMD HD4200 IGP.
This IGP is way old and way slow. I didnt even realize it could crunch anything.
The HD4200 runs at 500mhz is tied to system memory and only has 40 SP's. This thing predates OpenCL, I think the app is written in brook+ or whatever the first generation Folding@home app was written in.
It downloaded a solo collatz unit and took 285,492.73 minutes to crunch for a point value of 14,585.55. That is slightly less than 1% per hour. The nice thing about this is the application only uses .01 cpu to feed the gpu app so it doesn't affect the other things my cpu is working on. The bad side is that the system is basically unusable for anything as the screen has horrible lag while the app is running.
Does anyone have any comparable Solo collatz WU's I can compare to?
