Im planning on purchasing an X2 4400 at the end of the month and I hope they dont run out before I buy one. Have they stopped producing 939 for the newer AM2 cpus?

It seems that for most of us, regular folks, the 939s will be around a little longer. There's too many people who believe the 939 is best thing ever. Why replace a good thing yet. If it ain't broke, why replace it. The 939s makes it possible for everyone to get a good thing. You can start at a single and rise to duo core and still not have to spend a fortune doing so.

The new offerings haven't proven themselves yet, and do why should one pay more when the 939s are there and affordable. Most of us aren't going to rush out for the Conroe or AM2. Rather, we'll watch all the new buyers rush out and start selling their X2s, making it affordable for us. Can't wait for that to happen!

We still got time to get some great deals yet. May the 939s last forever.

Considering you can still buy brand-new Durons and SocketA motherboards today, you won't have to worry for a while.

Could you tell me the best way to format 250GB for maximum performance? I would greatly appreciate it. I took your jaguar symbol :)

I don't think it will really make a difference in performance, so I just would go for the one-big-partition approach if it were me. :)

Excellent  <-- us. It's actually a cheetah, note the black "tear marks" down the muzzle. I made that symbol/avatar myself, along with some of the others around here :)

939 will be out for a while, considering they been talking about socket 754 dying for over a year now, and guess what my sempron 64 skt 754 2800+ is coming in like a day :)
Most people wont suddenly switch to conroe or AM2 when they becoume available, especially when they have something like a dual core cpu, or a fast single core, unless they have too much money or are hard core enthusiasts who have to have the very possible best or have an old comp which they were waiting to upgrade.
