My specs: P5N32-SLI, P4 930 @ 3.75 3GB DDR2 667, 2X74 Raptors raid0, Sound blaster2 zx, WD250GB, 620WATTS Enermax Liberty & Leadtek 7900GT @ 500/725.

Do you think I will see any performance increase in games if I go SLI???

With a p4, only if you use very high res, 1600x1200 and AA/AF ++ lower than that and you'll be bottlenecked
Unless you're looking forward to some killer system games like oblivion, GRAW etc.. which should see a nice jump even at 1024x768 and so (although oblivion is very cpu dependent, some the slowness of a p4 comes into play again)

I think you will get a lot of difference.
I would suggest goinf for a RAdeon 1900XT/XTX or Geforce 7950GX 2

His Oc is pretty good so I don't think hes going to be too CPU limited. I would def pick up another 7900 GT for how cheap you can get some of them now.
What res are you going to be playing at?

oh, and why don't you tell him that if he gets an X1900XTX he might get unfixable stuttering issues (but it won't be his fault?)

anyway, OP - if you're stressing out your card right now, I would suggest getting another 7900GT, then not upgrading until DX10 is settled in. This would only cost you around $250 or so, instead of buying an entirely new card for too much. Usually, though, SLI won't give you a 200% benefit - usually it's something like 180% or so, unless it hits the CPU bottleneck.

If you think there will be a lot of difference, why are you telling him to get a 1900XT/X??? or a 7950GX2? If he gets either of those cards his 7900GT is rendered pretty much useless...if he gets another 7900GT he can take advantage of the benefits of SLi and pay a lot less than the cards you suggested.......

Oh, and to guoziming...QFT on that first line of your post ;)

Sure, but when you look at this

FEAR Stress Test:

1600x1200, 4xAA 16xAF, all max:
Opteron 165 @ 3GHz: Min 25 | Avg 43 | Max 172

Conroe @ 3GHz: Min 53 | Avg 86 | Max 310

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Opteron 165 @ 3GHz: Min 15 | Avg 83.993 | Max 689

Conroe @ 3GHz: Min 29 | Avg 132.776 | Max 1546

You gotta wonder how cpu limited we really were with multi gpu solutions nowadays... but dual 7900 would still rock with that 3.7 p4
