Will i see an increase in performance in this board even though when it goes into crossfire, it's 8x and 8x? If so, how much? Would it be worth it? I Play high end fps games at 1920x1200 on max settings or maybe higher res soon...

q9550 at 3.8Ghz
4 GB G skill Ram
5850 xfx GPU (then maybe buy one next year when price goes down)

I also have one 5850 and like to play games at max settings at 1920x1200.

If you want to always get >= 60fps on most newer games, a second 5850 will defiantly help, even more so at "higher res".

Games are certainly more than playable with just one 5850, but if you are sensitive to the choppiness of frame rates below 60 (as I am) you'll probably want to look into getting a second card. Though even then, there will be times when your frame rate will drop below 60, just less.

And you should not worry about 8x/8x vs 16x/16x. Perhaps if you were crossfireing two 5970's, it might be a concern.
