so i bought my self a copy of vista. i am wondering if i install this if i will be able to use any of the programs, hardware, software.

i was wonderijng what you can and cant use😱
 
You should be able to use quite a bit of the stuff you already have, and hopefully everything new that's coming out from this point forward. Noboby can give you a definitive list of what works and what doesn't, but you shouldn't have any problems with all common hardware and software. When you get into specialized stuff like tv tuners and custom software, it's a guessing game.
 
Nope. I'm have WinSCP, Battlefield 2, Python, Office XP, VMware Console and a slew of other old XP problems running without a hitch.

Before you install make sure you can get drivers for the oddball components that you need (TV tuner, soundcard, etc). Vista has drivers for pretty much everything else included.
