Will i notice a big difference going from my Current CPU

Athlon Xp 1800 @ 2100 mhz
1 gig Corsair 3200 running effectively at 420mhz (210 FSB x2)

To

Barton 2500 @ 2300 mhz
1 gig Corsair 3200 running effectively at 400mhz (200 FSB x2)


The barton has more cache supposedly, and probably is more efficient.

But will i really see a decent bump in performance (dvd ripping , burning, photoshop , some older games)

Not worth more than about $20 I'd say.

Not by a whole lot. At most we're talking 10 - 15% gains. Do it if it doesn't cost too much, but don't be expecting a day and night difference.

At this point, don't bother.

Note - if you need about 1-2fps for something, and you're sure your video card isn't the problem, then go ahead.
