Im thinking about installing Ubuntu onto my laptop which is rarely used anymore. ATM im Imaging the HDD voa Acronis for backup.

Will everything work hardware wise?

Laptop can be found in the "Rig" link in my sig.

Yes, I did resolve my problems. However, you can try for yourself. The Ubuntu installation CD boots into a working Ubuntu. Put in the CD, boot it, and see for yourself. If everything works, fine, go on and install to your HDD. If something does not work, do a search for your specific piece of hardware. Perhaps there is an easy fix.
