I'm feeling like I'm in that scene in Office Space where Peter's trying to duck out of the office before getting asked to work a weekend.
as soon as I realized that my company wasn't counting Easter as a holiday this year, I put in a time off request (and the way our time off requests work is that it's approved unless you are told otherwise). I don't think my boss has put two and two together, though, because I'm pretty sure he's going to ask one of the other people on my shift to work Friday overnight and offer him Sunday off in exchange, which will leave us with only 1 person in the office on Sunday (not a big deal) with a 2-hour gap in the schedule (big deal).
so what's ATOT's bet on whether or not I'll be able to skate through till Wednesday without my boss telling me to make sure my ass is here on Sunday? I've got Thursday/Friday/Saturday as my normal days off, so my plan is to accidentally leave my cellphone at work on Wednesday night just in case.
number 3 is pretty unlikely as I've already got a different job in a different department within this company already lined up with a department head who loves me... just waiting on my current boss to let me go at this point.
I've got a tradition with my friends going back like 10 years now that we go away every Easter weekend (Friday/Saturday, leave for home Sunday morning to get back in time for brunch). working Sunday would screw the whole thing up (Sunday at work = no Easter with the family = I'll have to spend Saturday with the family instead of losing money in a casino, besides which, I've already paid for the hotel room)
of course, all of this could be why I got a 1/5 for positive attitude in my performance review this year 😱
