So i just moved into my new place in nyc, but i can't get internet and cable until the 15th. i bought dead space, fallout3 and am thinking about getting gears2, BUT i dont know if those games will play since i can't run any system updates.

i tried popping in dead space and it asked to perform a system update. i think i said no and it just kicked me back to the dashboard. maybe i need to try again, but am i stuck and unable to play video games from now until the 15th? this is killing me. hahah

the updates are contained on the game disc itself. If you don't update you can't play. Its just how it is. You are however never required to have live to play games offline.

I have never update my Xbox live since I got Xbox 360 2 years ago and it plays all the games fine but some games will ask you to do an update the first time you run the game. Don't sweat it, if the game ask you to update go ahead and do the update. BTW Gears of War 2 kick ass.
