Does customs go through all luggage?
If they stop me for it, can I point out that they're fake or will they give me trouble?

** Made it back without any problems.
There was more trouble in HK then in Newark.
The chinese cops were like, WTF?
Took the guns out, and said in chinese damn these things look real...and that was with the red tip on.

The funny thing is they had REAL MP5's strapped around their shoulders and comparing their's to mine :D

Do it. Just make sure you post what flight # so when we all hear on the news about how some "terrorist threatened to take over a plane" we'll know it was you :)

lmao...
You might want to ask security over there before you bring the weapons.
Call them.

yes, but you have to declare that you are bringing them and then fill out the appropriate forms (which will be given to you)

Don't do it. Even if they are legal (make sure it has the orange tip) a juttery customs agent can, and likely will confiscate them. Even if you're in the right, it'll be a big hassle for you and possibly cost you more $$$ on appeals. Just buy one in the US through a legit importer. Let them worry about the details.

Ship them from Hong Kong to your home. Might cost $40-$50, but it is better than being arrested. ;)

Yes, ship them. My dad and I have flown with real guns before, and even when everything is 'taken care of,' there is usually some hassle and things need to be explained ad nauseum. You will thank yourself later - and don't forget to insure it!

so? it will still most likely be a huge hassle since it looks like a real gun. unless the sit there and disassemble the thing and hand it over to you.

If you don't think that's a big hassle, hell, bring them on the plane with you.

Airlines are in CYA mode, so anything involving guns, real or fake, is going to be highly scrutinized. You can't assume that everyone knows everything about airsoft.

For some reason, I just don't see this turning out well:Q

I'd ship them to myself, those body cavity searches are to be avoided @ all costs:D

sure. i do it all the time. but for some reason now, i always see men in black suits with dark sunglasses follow me--to the grocery store, the mall, state fair, they are everywhere! and there's been this white van parked across the street for about two weeks now!

i guess you could completely dissasemble them, maybe that would make it easier to put in luggage? for sure do not bring it or attempt to bring it on carryon.

indeed, wait for the customs checks through shipping instead of in line at the airport customs desk.

If that were my kid, I'd be in a federal pen, because that sh!t wouldn't fly. Taking away a kid's toy?

A sword is very different than an M4 lookalike.
