will hyper threading work on older boards

i just got a Asus p4s8x mobo about 2 months ago. does anyone know if hyper threading on the new intel cpu's will work on older boards?
 
If its an 850E or 845E chipset then yes, they should be making a BIOS upgrade to support the hyperthreading.

....ahh I see it is a SIS chipset motherboard. Not sure about those.

Yes and even if you have a 3.06 you need Windows XP. Windows 2000 or earlier won't do it.

Ah, that upgrade cycle, Wintel loves.
