Makes more sense to keep gmail invite only...keeps spammers out longer and reduces the number of registrations.

I have a feeling they'll stay invite only for a while.

Methinks Gmail is the greatest non-event to plague mankind since the advent of personal computing.

Just a thought.

You can disregard it if you wish.

Gmail was faced with a challenge: how to roll out a service that was facing massive demand. The invitation system was brilliant, allowing them to control the rate of growth based on the systems stability and architecture.

Having said that the party is over, I predict it will be open to anyone by next Monday.

I saw the age poll and how 2/3 of the respondants were in the 13-20 age range.. but it didn't really hit home just how many little kids ATOT has till the string of gmail threads, stuff like "0mgz0rz plz sum1 plz ne1 i r b nead gmale invyte so eye kan tak 2 mi frenz0rz abowt how l33t da bakstreat boyz0rz r b!!!1!1!uno!!11" and such :disgust:

Edit: and it just occurred to me, in pig-latin it would be "mailgay". Fitting.
