With the on going Radeon LE vs. GeForce2 MX struggle I just wanted opinions on this card:
Guillemot Hercules 3D PROPHET-II MX 32 MB AGP Video Card Nvidia Geforce 2 MX 32MB No TV Out it is listed on newegg.com for virtually the same price ($4+) as the LE.

fyi will be using this on an 1Ghz Tbird, Iwill KK266 Mobo, w/256MB Kingston 133RAM, Taisol CGK Hsf, PlexWriter 16x10x40 CDRW. Plan on doing moderate oc'ing and will be dual booting win98/win2k. Win2k will be PRIMARY OS for 2D/Business use.

Thanks for the posts!!

Any need for DVD support? How about gaming?

The Radeon has better image quality. Both 2d and 3d. But this certainly doesn't mean that the Herc's image quality sucks. The Herc will also probably get you a few frames per second more.

I run Win2k, and the ATI drivers are working great for me.

So, it really is a toss-up. I'm glad I could help. ;)

Well this pc is actually for my father (any feedback on the options would be good too! i.e. KT7A w/sound card vs. the KK266, etc.) I am sure he will be using this for his office apps & whatnot, but would like to see him doing some fragging once and a while.

I'd recommend the Radeon LE. It has better 2d quality and since it is mostly business/windows then the 2d quality is definitely important. However it still is plenty fast. Make sure you enable Hyper-Z and overclock it to Radeon 32 Retails speeds (so then it's a Radeon 32 retail for much cheaper).

And while the performance of the Radeon under win2k because of drivers isn't usually as good as win98, you said you will be doing mostly 2d in win2k so then it's no problem.
