First time poster but long time reader! I want to thank everyone in advance for taking the time to read this post. I have searched for the answer and just cannot find anything. I have bought a ga-965p-ds3 motherboard, bought it new from the egg and received it today. It is version 1.0. I wont have a video card until tomorrow but I was hoping to get everything else working tonight so I just put the card in tomorrow and play.

I really though the motherboard would at least boot up initially and make a few error beeps without the video card installed but I am not getting anything. Is this normal? My power supply checks out, it worked on another board. 550 watt ezpower. 2 gb buffalo ddr 5300 ram. The motherboard was not sealed so I am hoping I didnt get a return.

Any suggestions? Again thanks for any help.

Yeah I can do that but I was hoping to get all of my cables routed, fans installed, cards in, etc. I wont have a lot of time tomorrow.

I believe you cannot boot the GA-965P-DS3 motherboard without a video card, as the video card is the first part (besides probably the processor) that a system checks for. Just wire it all up, chances are better that your system will be ready when the video card is inserted. Of course, if your motherboard wasn't sealed... who knows.

I appreciate it! I will have my card this morning hopefully and will post what happens. I wasnt extremely clear in my first post but my motherboard wont even POST which I always thought it would do without a pci express card.
