Will getting a monitor cable like this make text look sharper?

Hey guys I have a Samsung 900IFT crt monitor and I am wanting to change the video cable out. The one I have is the original D-sub (15-pin) connector cable. I am wanting to know if a cable set like this: Here would improve the image on my monitor since my monitor has these type of inputs. Also, would gettting a better d-sub cable help or not? Thanks in advance and take care

Everyone I've ever asked says it does help to use the BNC connectors on a monitor if it has them. It sharpens up the signal since R, G, B, H sync, and V sync are all carried over seperate cables and suffer less interference. Don't expect a dramatic improvement. A dramatic improvement comes from optimizing your resolution, refresh rate, brightness, and contrast to something that your monitor really likes.

If none of this helps, remember: as CRTs get old, the sharpness tends to slide. Thats just the way things go sometimes.

The major cause of text fuzziness is having the brightness turned too high in an attempt to get the vibrant colors we all enjoy. Excess brightness results in loss of focus in the electron beam that draws your picture.

I've made a switch from D-sub to BNC and I can say the colours were more vibrant and text slightly sharper.
