Hi, sittin' beside me I have an Athlon 2800+ (333Mhz), a Mobo supporting FSB 333/400 and Geil Ram DDR400.
It's a cheap Mobo located here :
Asrock K7S8XE+
But it looked pretty good for the price, but then again I know nothing of motherboards, and it probably shows. I ran outa cash and had to skimp unfortunately but it seems to get good reviews.
Anyways...
I can't set the FSB on the mobo higher than 333 cause I don't wanna overclock the CPU (yet at least), so this means the RAM will run at 333. Will this RAM run ok at 333 do you think?, or is it likely not to work ?
From what I've read, to get the CPU at 333 and the RAM at 400 I need to have a mobo capable of asynchronous memory speeds, so I'd need to adjust the memory/fsb ratio. And I don't know, but I'd severly doubt that my cheapo mobo will do that.
Anyone with more knowledge on this, I'd really appreciate your opinions.... and no, I really can't afford a better mobo ;-)
Thanks
