Will foam help make a case quieter?

My computer's not too loud at the moment (given all the fans i'm running on this thing) but is there a way to make it even quieter? I was wondering if I installed foam on both sides of the computer to quiet this little monster down, would it make much of a difference? Will foam in a computer also affect temperature? Thanks.

From what i have read in the fourm it wont make your system any quieter and it might make it warmer.

what you could use is dynomat, found at all car audio shops and online,I'm sure.It is the bomb for sound absorbtion, and as stated, all materials will insulate to some extent, dynomat would be the least insulating.Carpet, foam, they would be the most insulating.

Is it the panels rattling that is making noise, or the sound of the fans spinning? I know I was getting some vibration noise from the panel on top rattling after I added a faster CD ROM and a fan, and I took some strips of gasket rubber and glued down on the edge where the metal panels touched.

I just have lots of fans running ... I'm thinking of getting some Silencer fans. I just want it to be absolutely quiet. Thanks for all your inputs. :D

From what I've read that Dynamat is gonna stink for about a month. You can get similar results with cardboard. There are some good suggestions at 7volts
