I think the guy is hilarious. A natural. But...NOBODY topped Phil Hartman. Too bad he married a crazy ass woman who took his life :( I think Phil belonged in the top tier of comics of the last century.

He is the best SNL alum to come out in awhile, but he isn't a comedic genius.

Jack Black is.

He's not funny, but give him a good comedy writer and he can act out a decent performance. I really don't know if he has any stand up history (SNL does not count). He kinda ruined Jay&Silent Bob strike back for me though :(

I thought he was one of the redeeming qualities of that over-produced pile of crap movie.

:Q Are you reffering to Jay and Silent Bob's own MOVIE :| :p
Smith wrote a pretty damn good script, Ferrel really didn't do his job that great. Plus the whole movie was a satire.. it was meant to be a pile of crap, ferrel just made it unfunny.

He's the best in an otherwise shallow pool of comedians.

Oh, and did anyone catch the Tracy Morgan Show last night. Tivo only grabbed the first couple of minutes, but I LdMAO at those first couple of minutes.

Wife: ahhh, look /son's name/ wrote a letter to Santa, isn't that sweet.
Wife: /smiling/ He even drew a map to our house on the front of the envelope, awwwwww.
Tracy: Well, that's just crazy (imagine Brian Fellows), he's got him coming up from the west side......

Tivo stopped after that, but I just busted out laughing.

And might I add, that is one fine looking boy you are raising.

What don't you understand? He didn't write the damn script, its not his own words. Its words he read off a page to a butt-fvcking couple outside a diner holding a monkey. WTH is wrong with you? Charlston Heston could have said that line 20X better than Ferrel.

:)

I think he's hilarious. He has great comedic timing, and the way he phrases things sometimes just cracks me up. Like when he calls his wife in Old School "I'll be in the neighborhood later on, and I was wondering if maybe you wanted to get some frozen yogurt, or perhaps a whole meal of food, if that would be agreeable" Not that funny of a line, but the delivery is funny. "A whole meal of food" LOL.

Plus, his Robert Goulet is hilarious.

He was great in Old School......."Honey, do you think KFC is still open?"

But Elf sucked in so many ways.......so I guess he is rather hit/miss depending upon the material.

Agreed.

I don't like Will Ferrell. I think Monty Python fans like him 'cause it's that kind of humor but I hate that kind.

I think Will's strength was in doing SNL sketches. He has a hard time carrying an entire movie from what I've seen (although Old School is pretty good). He is awesome at impressions and doing those 5 minutes sketches. Think Harry Carey, The balding man with his wife who sang with their keyboard, Neil Diamond, Spartan, etc.
