Will fans spin the wrong way...

So I got a new heatsink/fan for my video card, and I wasn't sure which way to plug in the fan (2 pin header). If I plug it in the wrong way, will the fan spin the opposite direction?

It should only be able to go in one way, or at least one way will seem more correct than the other way. It'll kind of lock when you put it in correctly.

If you are going to mess with electical stuff in your computer, you should have at least a basic DMM (digital multimieter) so you won't have to guess when the connectors aren't keyed. http://www.bgmicro.com has a basic one that would serve for under $10. and better ones with more features for a bit more.
