like the title says, I currently using those thin cables, at least when compared to my housemates cables.

also, the connection to the modem is after 2 spliters. saw some fancy spliters at Frys, just wondering if it's worth it.

thanks

No speed increase.
A reliability increase, maybe. I would hook it up as-is, run speed tests at dslreports and report back here with the results as compared to the housemates' results.
I'd bet you'll get more or less the same, around 240 up and whatever your area gets for DL speeds. Comcast is increasing the speeds to 3Mbit, but it is not everywhere yet.
If the speeds are the same, +/- 10%, then the question is reliability. If you do not get more frequent dropped connections than your roomie, don't waste your money:)

hey, thanks for the reply. I'm getting about 2.8 - 3 Mbps from Newsbin. I can't test against my housemate because we're on the same network. we get our tv signal thru different lines, but internet is on the same network. anyway, thanks for the advise. I will leave everything as is.
thanks
