Will extra 120mm case fans help get a better OC?

I have Antec 300 that has 2 x 120mm fans already (1 on the back and 1 on top). Will adding another 120mm fan in the front and side help get a better OC out of my Q9550? If so how many degrees cooler would I be?

If so what are a few good ones hat I can try and find in store? Haven't seemed to be able to find reviews.

Thanks

Sounds like you already have a good HSF for the cpu. You need to read the posts in the case & cooling forum.... wiser folks than me there.

Good 120x120x25mm case fans...
Yate Loon D12-SM12, 1650rpm/33dba/71cfm
Scythe SSF21G-S-flex 1900rpm/34dba/75cfm
Minebea 4710KL 1900/31/75
Papst
and others....

May want to get a fan controller if you get powerful/loud fans

Good OCing results depend on a good HSF which can move the generated heat off the chip - the vendetta 2 fills that bill - may need a stronger fan than stock on it though. After that you just need enough air going thru the case so that the HSF fan won't get bogged down from lack of air and enough rear fan to get the hot air out of the case. A quality PSU is also key. Any kind of power problem will be exaggerated at high overclocks.

How would you know if a PSU is the handicap?

Generally trying another PSU of known adequate power is the only reasonably useful test.
