Will exchange calendar remain on phone after deleting exchange account?

I'm wondering what happens to your calendar if you have an Android phone and add a work MS Exchange account into the phone, and then later you delete the account. Do calendar events remain?

I know it's poor practice but I put personal events onto my exchange outlook calendar so I use my work calendar as my default life calendar. What would happen if I left my job and my former employer deactivated my work email? Would I still be able to see upcoming events from the deactivated exchange account?

Deleting the account from the exchange server only affects the exchange server. The phone will remain untouched with all of the data intact unless you initiate a remote wipe *before* removing the ActiveSync record for the device from the server (note, this will wipe the WHOLE PHONE, not just that account.)

On the phone you can still access all the email and calendar events on it unless you manually remove the Exchange account. You'll constantly be nagged for a password box though because it's failing authentication (because the account doesn't exist anymore). It's up to the specific email app whether or not an incorrect account password locks out access to the stored mail/calendar.
