Will DVI show up in initial screens?

I have a Hyundai L90+ and I have to hook in the vga connection in order to see the inital screens (ie. bios). Is there something that can be done so the DVI connection works before hitting the windows screen?
Thanks,
Mike

Normally, nothing you even NEED to be doing - it should just plain work. If the graphics card does its thing right, and if the DVI display declares support of legacy VGA display modes, then everything should be visible like you're used to.

What kind of video card are you using? There was a thread a while back about this issue with some ATI cards (possibly older ones...?). I have this same issue with an old Radeon 7500, but I haven't really dug into it since that box is pretty much only a backup. For the cards that are affected, I don't recall that there was a solution other than just switching to VGA when BIOS access is needed.

Edit: found other thread...

This guy has an X800 XT... My Radeon is old...

It should work, but I've noticed there is a delay for the DVI to come up. If you want to see your BIOS post, then hit the pause button (the very last function key) until the screen comes on.

I have this problem sometimes, I have an old video card GeForce 3 (don't laugh). I turn off/on my monitor then I get the vga signal.

Thanks for the responses. I have a 3dconnect x800xl video card. Everything is brand new. Built the system on Wednesday. I have tried to just wait for the DVI to turn on, but that doesn't work. The screen just has the blue screen with a box saying that there is no signal.
