Will DVI give me full 2560x1440 from GeForce GTX460? Sorry, confused about all this.

I have an old old old Dell Monitor. I am going to upgrade to something like a 2560x1440 Acer G257HU (or other). Those monitors all have Display Ports as the preferred input but...

My Graphics card is a Geforce GTX460 which has two DVI & one Mini-HDMI output. No Display Port.

Will DVI deliver 2560x1440?

Or do I need a Mini-HDMI to HDMI cable? I have been reading how Mini HDMI to HDMI cables will only go 1080p. This is all rather confusing, sorry.

Dvi can get you 2560x1440 at 60 hz. If a screen has a dvi port it should work.

Can always make sure by contacting support when you decide what screen you want to buy.

As far as driving monitors goes HDMI is basically single link DVI which is good for 60hz at 1080p.
