Will Duo 1 notebook prices drop after Duo 2 release???

Hi all!

I am in the market for a Core Duo 1 notebook, and I'm now down to the Lenovo Z61m or the 3000 n100 -- both have the Core Duo 1 processor.

My question is: Since the Duo 2 is going to be released very soon, should I wait a bit to purchase a Duo 1 system? I assume that the price of this "old" technology will decrease after the Duo 2 comes out, but how long will it take to affect prices of notebooks?

Thanks!

Based on Anandtech's article comparing the 2, there dosen't seem to be any significant performance differences between the Core and Core2 chips. Based on this information, I would conclude that they may phase out Core chips altogether when mobile Core2 chips have ramped up. This will probably lead to a small window of clearance sales for the Core Duo laptops.

What do you mean decreasing in prices? From retailers (where they barely sell any to begin with)? No. But its clear that the OEM's are clearing them out, look at all the various laptop deals surfacing.
