Will dreamweaver work if I just replace its folder after reformatting?

I do web page work for an online company. The guy I work for came to my house and installed a legit copy of dreamweaver onto my PC for me to work with. I have to reformat my hard drive soon and I wont be seeing the guy for a while, but I would like to continue my work. Will I be ok if I just put the Macromedia Dreamweaver folder into Program Files after I reinstall Windows on the reformatted drive?
There are probably registry files that I wont get back, but will the program work?

Btw, using ghost or a similar program to make an image of my hard drive is not an option.

thanks.

Highly unlikely,,,,

Most apps install 'keys' in the windows registry to make sure your not using stolen software.

Save you creations to another drive... then reinstall everything,, then move stuff back ,, or redirect the app to where they reside.

I don't think it did for me IIRC. I reinstalled Windows (just replaced the C:\Windows dir... and left all my programs in their folders... when I clicked the .exe I believe I got some error...

My copy of Dreamweaver 4 works fine after reformatting my OS partition and leaving the partition Dreamweaver was installed on intact.

You'll have to re-enter your serial number, so either get it out of the registry or dig out your CD case. My CD case was in storage and I had to go box digging to use it again :)
